Setting up Multifactor Authentication using SMS verification Follow
Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is an extra security measure in addition to passwords that requires you to provide additional verification (factors) when logging into your account.
This guide will help you secure your account using SMS verification.
1. Open a web browser on your computer or smartphone, go to the Microsoft Security Info portal (https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info) and log in using your Great Southern Grammar email and password. You will be prompted for more information.
For parents, this email address is YourID@community.gsg.wa.edu.au.
2. You will be prompted to use the Microsoft Authenticator. Select the option towards the bottom that says 'I want to set up a different method'.
3. From the options, select 'Phone'.
4. Select Australia +61 (or the relevant country code for your number) and then enter your mobile phone number. Select 'Next'.
5. Within a minute, you will receive an SMS verification code from Microsoft. Note this down, enter the code, and select 'Next'.
6. You will receive a 'verification complete' confirmation. Your account is now secured to use SMS verification. Select 'Done' to continue the login process.
7. Periodically, you will be prompted to verify your identity when you attempt to log into Great Southern Grammar systems. To verify, simply enter the SMS code that is sent to your phone when authenticating with your password.
